New Gymnastics Program Offered to Special Olympians

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – December 5, 2016 – The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with Somersaults Gymnastics to offer a gymnastics program for Special Olympians ages 8 and up. The program will be held Saturdays, January 7 through March 11 from 2:30 – 3:45 p.m. at Somersaults Gymnastics Center, 930 27thAvenue SW.

 

“I look forward to teaching the female athletes routines on several gymnastics events including vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise, and the male athletes routines on vault, parallel bars and floor exercise,” said coach Robin Joens.

 

The registration fee is $25, payable to Somersaults Gymnastics. A current physical and release are required to participate. Registration is being taken by Rob Wagner, Special Olympics Program Supervisor. Contact Rob at 319-286-5799 or r.wagner@cedar-rapids.org.
